CUMC Vision Statement:
“Vitally connecting people to people and people to God.”
Core Values:
Committed to Christ
Jesus asked his disciple Peter, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter declared, “You are the Christ, the Messiah, Lord”. This is our affirmation also. Jesus Christ is our Lord and all we say and do is to be measured along side of the example and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to help grow in relationship with Christ not based on what we think he is or others portray him to be. Rather we want to have a real personal relationship with Jesus and get to know him one on one. We invite others to join with us in coming to know him and share together what we know about Jesus. Just as no two people have exactly the same relationship with someone else, each of us will come to experience Jesus uniquely. When we share our experiences of Christ, we grow as a Christian community. Of course, Jesus does not exist on some relative scale alone. Jesus is Lord and as such we are all called to come to know the one Jesus and in that knowing our personal walk of faith and our corporate witness will take on an identifiable unique integrity and character. That is what it means to be Christian. We invite you to join with us in our daily pursuit of becoming increasingly more Committed to Christ.
