There are times in life when you invest thousands of hours into a project or job, and because you are so invested, you have a certain expectation of what the outcome of that project will be. So it was for this year’s Righteous Mission, and going into the week, many of us involved had anxieties that the worship times, projects, and everything else that came along with the trip would fall short of what we had hoped.

Instead, RIGHTEOUS MISSION 09 BLEW OUR EXPECTATIONS OUT OF THE WATER! All of the projects that we worked on, including a healing garden, a fountain, an entire room of murals, a chapel face lift, and career closet, turned out amazing. The people that we interacted with at Covenant House were great, and we found that this organization that we had partnered with was right at the center of the fight against homelessness in downtown Detroit. We couldn’t have been prouder to have partnered with Covenant House.

And in all things during the week, God was active and moving around and within our group of 87. Everyone on the trip came back with a renewed desire to walk with God daily, seeking out ways that they could enhance their relationship with Him. His kingdom was at the center of everything we did that week, as we learned to align our wills with His, to care about the things He cares about.
